CoRAL Network in DC

Student Engagement Assessment Questionnaire

The Community Research and Learning (CoRAL) Network and eight universities in the DC metro region are participants in an on-going assessment of students' opinions of and experiences with community organizations and community learning curricula.  A group of students from American University, Catholic University of America, George Washington University, Georgetown University, Howard University, Trinity College, University of the District of Columbia, and the University of Maryland-College Park  have been asked by their instructors to provide information at the beginning and the conclusion of their community-based/service-learning course.

The information provided by the students will remain confidential and their name nor personal data will be divulged to anyone. Pre- and post-survey data will be compared by an abbreviated identification number. This information cannot be traced back to the participant nor to their computer.  The on-line survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Upon submitting survey, the student is sent a confirmation email to present to their instructor.

We hope that the results of this survey will help instructors design better courses and document the benefits and challenges associated with community-based learning at DC-area universities. When concluded, the results of this survey will be available on CoRAL's website.

If you are an instructor at a university in the DC-metro region, and would like to have students in your community-based/service-learning course participate in this survey, please contact us at info@coralnetwork.org.
