When: December 1, 2005
Where: Wyndham City Center Hotel
1143 New Hampshire Avenue NW

Our friends at the Corporation for National and Community Service have asked us to extend to you an invitation to their anniversary celebration. As proponents of service-learning in the DC metropolitan area, this is a great opportunity to network with our service learning counterparts across the country. All that is needed is that you RSVP (acceptances only). We hope to see you there!

This celebration, will mark a decade and a half of outstanding achievement in service-learning.

The day-long symposium begins at 8:30 am and will bring together those who have had a hand in shaping Learn and Serve America and service-learning both nationally and in local communities. We will look to our past, examine successes of the last 15 years, envision the future, and address the role that Learn and Serve America should play in the coming decades. The day will culminate with an evening gala from 6:00-8:00 pm.

If you have any questions, please contact Amy Cohen (acohen@cns.gov) or Kevin Days (kdays@cns.gov).

This unique initiative utilizes the creative power of performance art and poetry to motivate young people to educate themselves and others about the Global AIDS pandemic and to increase awareness and understanding about Africa. Global Youth Partnership for Africa (GYPA), formerly Project Namuwongo Zone B (PNZB), is a non-profit organization legally registered as an NGO/CBO in Uganda that strives to cultivate youth as global citizens and partners in development and advocacy for Africa. GYPA seeks to develop a deeper appreciation, understanding, and respect between young American and African leaders, who are tomorrow's global decision-makers. PNZB was co- founded by an American ? Jeremy M. Goldberg (then 22 years old) ? and a Ugandan ? Joseph Bagambaki (then 31 years old) ? in October 2003 as a community-based sustainable development and aid organization based in Washington, DC with staff in Kampala, Uganda.
