Documentary about DC Latinos
Event: Premiere of "Through Our Eyes"
When: September 13, 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Inter-American Development Bank, 1300 New York Ave NW

In commemoration of the Mayor?s Office on Latino Affairs (OLA) 30th Anniversary and Hispanic Heritage Month, OLA proudly announces the broadcasting of ?Through Our Eyes,? the first-ever HDTV documentary about accomplishments beating the odds of DC Latinos since the 1970s.

?Through Our Eyes? shows the Latino experience as it has never been told before, for the first time Latinos will narrate their own story. In addition, ?Through Our Eyes? will highlight several milestone events such as the atmosphere of the Latino community in the 1970s after the civil rights movement, the creation of the Office on Latino Affairs, the immigration of Central Americans, the Mount Pleasant disturbances, and the progress in education and health throughout the years.

"Through Our Eyes" will also be aired on WUSA Channel 9 on September 24 at 11am.
