The 70 Bus is a story about the different struggles and successes that people encounter in their daily lives. The 70 Bus is about the different stories that are shared and the unique occurrences that one has while riding the bus in the city. The 70 Bus focuses on the unique collective aspects and experiences that are rooted in DC culture. The bus is where public debates are held. The bus serves as the forum for people to discuss the latest news and gossip. People depend on the bus. The bus becomes part of their existence. People incorporate the bus into their extended family.

It is about the community that exists on the city bus system. The play takes place over the course of early Friday morning to late Saturday night. The bus driver, Mr. Wonderful, is the stalwart urban saint the keeps the entire bus in order. Mr. Wonderful is a character that everyone can identify with and is the representative pride of his community.

Through a partnership with the Literature Division of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library there will be free public performances of The 70 Bus in the auditorium which seats 250 people from July 25th to August 12th (ten performances).
