Where: Johns Hopkins University, Rome Auditorium

This forum will focus on heightening awareness of racial, class, and ethnic inequalities in our region's public school systems and their impact on the achievement gap. This forum will look specifically at the important role that quality teaching plays in reducing the gap. Teacher quality is proven to be key to a child's academic success. Furthermore, evidence suggests that the highest-quality teachers are not teaching in the schools that need them the most?schools with a large proportion of low-income students of color and immigrants.

The mission of The Community Foundation is to facilitate individual, family and organizational giving at all levels to create a permanent source of philanthropic capital to improve the quality of life in the metropolitan Washington region.
