Passing Away of Two Faculty Fellows

Recently two professors who had participated in the CoRAL Network's Faculty Fellows program passed away. Dr. Linda Williams, a 2004 Faculty Fellow, was a professor at the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, College Park. She worked tirelessly to combat racism and injustice in the U.S. and was a consultant on election issues to many Black and women's organizations as well as having led several social and economic research groups. A memorial service will be held for her on November 17. Her family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the United Negro College Fund in her memory. More information

2005 Faculty Fellow Dr. Myrtle Jonas, of the Department of Computer Science at the University of the District of Columbia, also passed away recently. She was president of the Caribbean Association of Professionals and Scholars (CAPS).

We at the CoRAL Network will sorely miss these two individuals who worked so hard to make their community, and the world, a better place.
