Georgetown Summer Camp

Age Range: 6 - 16

The Yates Field House will host weekly sessions of Day Camp for boys and girls ages 6-10, and tennis camp for those 8-16 years of age. The first session of each of these camps will begin on Monday, June 12th. Camps will run from 9am to 4pm and they will include lunch and a daily swim.

Additionally, many of the varsity coaches still have spaces in their Sport Camps this summer. Among this year?s offerings will be basketball, lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, softball, and volleyball. There will be camps for boys, camps for girls, overnight camps, weekend camps and day camps ? all led by their varsity coaches there on campus (softball at nearby Guy Mason Field).

The Georgetown University Summer Day Camp features the Yates Field House and all the GU recreational facilities, creating an opportunity for fun and fitness. Children aged 6 to 10 enjoy daily activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor and indoor sports, nature walks, weekly movies, talent shows and more.

OUP is seeking individuals to review, score, and provide valuable written comments on applications submitted for the following programs in response to the HUD FY06 NOFA:

Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian Institutions Assisting Communities (AN/NHIAC)
Hispanic-Serving Institutions Assisting Communities (HSIAC)
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)
Tribal Colleges and Universities Program (TCUP)

In 1994 HUD established the Office of University Partnerships (OUP) in an effort to encourage and expand the growing number of partnerships formed between colleges and universities and their communities. OUP recognizes the crucial role these collaborations and partnerships play in addressing local problems and revitalizing our nation's communities. Additionally, colleges and universities are making future generations aware of these issues by integrating partnership activities into their academic studies and student activities.

Reviewer must meet the following criteria:

Able to analyze the content of a proposal and prepare comments (typed on a laptop) based on information/data presented in up to six proposals.
Willing to work as part of a team, meet deadlines, and be willing to work long hours, including Saturday and Sunday.
Able to commit for the length of the review (up to 7 days, including travel time).

Reviewers should also meet a minimum of THREE of the following qualifications:

Possess at minimum a bachelor's degree.
Current or former faculty in a community development- or an economic development-related field.
Experienced in community development and urban planning.
Administered a federal grant program designed specifically to revitalize low-income neighborhoods.
Work(ed) at a minority-serving institution or attended a minority-serving institution.
Directed or managed a project or grant funded by OUP in the capacity of a faculty member or staff person.
Practitioner having experience working with tribes (TCUP program only).
Former or retired federal employee who has experience working with targeted population of the program, interested in reviewing applications for or have administered federal grant programs designated specifically for that population.

Job Summary: Position will carry forward the work of the Montgomery Coalition for Adult Literacy & English for Speakers of Other Languages (M- CALESOL) to establish a non-profit organization that will focus on expanding ESL program availability and access throughout Montgomery County. Position will bring together the common needs and aspirations of community based organizations, faith based organizations, public institutions, and government service organizations to respond to the Countys need for expanded English language skill development opportunities.
