Addressing Collegiate Alcohol & Drug Issues

The competition is open to any undergraduate or graduate student at a member institution of The Network (search the online "Members" database at http://www.thenetwork.ws to ascertain institutional membership and/or to seek free membership). The Network will provide one award of up to $5,000 for original student research that is consistent with the organization's mission to address alcohol/other drug abuse and violence prevention in higher education.

The Inaugural Student Research Award Competition begun in 1987 by the U.S. Department of Education, the Network is a voluntary membership organization whose member institutions agree to adhere to a set of standards aimed at reducing alcohol and other drug problems at colleges and universities.

DC Comprehensive Plan Presentation

The upcoming presentations will provide an overview of proposed revisions to the Comp Plan, and changes to the city's official Land Use Map. While there have been many opportunities for input over the past 18 months, these presentations will be the first time to hear about the Draft document itself. Other opportunities to weigh-in are planned - including a Mayor's hearing - but the upcoming presentations are your best chance to ask questions and be heard.

There will be a copy of the working draft of the revised Comp Plan at www.inclusivecity.org after May 15. In the meantime, you can view and review working drafts of all of the Citywide Elements of the revised Comp Plan at website below.
